Welcome to Work Her Way! For those of us who have spent many months bringing this to life, it feels wonderful to finally be here, meeting YOU. Welcome home. We hope you’ll stay a while.
We have so much to talk about, and so much to learn from each other along the way. I’ve asked some experts, columnists and generally fantastic, savvy folks to join us. These are the people to whom I go when I need answers. I trust their advice and wisdom, and I thank them for sharing it with all of us – women working our way and building our careers and living the lives we love.
You’ll notice that we don’t always agree. There are often several different viewpoints offered on issues that impact working women. I like that. You may have heard terms like straight-shooter used to describe me. That’s not a tag line from a television commercial; it’s who I am. And for that reason, I like to let others tell it as they see it. That’s usually where the good conversations begin. That’s how we play here.
Speaking of conversations, I hope you’ll join ours. There are many ways in which your voice may be heard on Work Her Way. Please comment on what you read, especially if you have a story to tell. Wherever you are on your journey, there is someone about to make a similar leap. Whatever you can share about what you have learned along the way is going to help that working woman, so don’t let her down!
On the light side, we see things every day that make us laugh, sometimes purely for their outrageousness. We couldn’t make this stuff up, and we don’t want to! Tell us about the ridiculous side of the working world, and we’ll share it with all of Work Her Way in our Today’s Train Wreck section – coming soon.
Finally, don’t be afraid to tell it like it is – to me! Work Her Way is your place, and we never kid ourselves into thinking that we have it all wrapped up. If you email me with suggestions on how we can improve, know that your ideas have been heard.
Here’s to our new friendship, and to your continued success.
