Out of a desperate desire to raise her two young toddlers, Jan M. Smith hung up her Mickey Ears for merely a day. That’s when her employer, The Walt Disney Company called and offered a consulting role. As a result, Inland Management Group was created and nearly 15 years later, Jan continues to provide organizations and clients with professional consultation in the areas of Training and Development, Employee Relations, Human Resource Management, Recruitment, and Guest Service.
Jan’s corporate experience spanned entertainment and retail sectors with The Walt Disney Company, Saks Fifth Avenue and Robinson’s May Department Stores. Her consulting practice includes all areas of hospitality, entertainment, and retail, for companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Tokyo DisneySeas, Disney Stores, Universal Studios Hollywood, Nestle USA, Mirage, Westin and Sheraton Resorts, Caesars Palace Entertainment, Princess Cruises, ESPN Zone, Callaway and Wilson Creek Wineries, Pechanga Resort and Casino, and numerous restaurant organizations.
Her passion to share her experiences and expertise shines through with her informative presentations on topics encompassing major business, Human Resource, Guest Service, and Workplace Generational issues.
Jan holds a BA business degree from the University of LaVerne. Given her passion for guest service, she sits on the Board of Directors for the Temecula Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau. She is also holds the title of Corporate Director of HR for Azul Hospitality Management Company.
Fulfilling her aspiration to write, she has co-authored Heart of a Woman in Business, is currently authoring two books, and writes a monthly hospitality column for the Temecula Valley Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
Jan lives in the heart of the beautiful Southern California Wine Country, with her husband, and has realized her dream to raise two great kids.
