Women have come closer to complete equality with men in the workplace in terms of salary, advancement, level of education, and other key indicators.
However, there is one significant exception to this new trend.

Violent acts in the workplace are too horrifying and tragic to have earned an amusing buzzword of a nickname like "going postal." Why are these acts so common, and can we do more to prevent them?

Rob, it was so very kind of you to share so much information on your blog - thank you! Yours was the first piece of feedback I received after the Golden Gavel dinner, when my online editor sent me a link to one of your posts. By the way - staying to attend the dinner the following evening was not even a tough call - the pleasure was all mine!

Great advice, Lisa - I can think of many times when preconceived notions got in the way of what could have been a good working relationship!

Thank you, Sherri! It took me a few days to head back to earth after the convention - it was such a high, all thanks to people like YOU.

Thank you, Lisa! Even in these times, there are companies not worth working for. I recently spoke with a colleague whom I have mentored over the years, and she had the courage to turn down an offer that was clearly a bad fit in terms of values.
I can't imagine the sense of purpose and wisdom it must take for an unemployed job seeker to walk away from an offer - any offer. However, it was so clearly the right thing to do.

Thank YOU! The pleasure was all mine. As I have said to many people since returning home, I have never before encountered a group of people like this one.
It's wonderful seeing so many Toastmasters joining us on Work Her Way - please stay in touch!

Lisa, good for you! Another Dress for Success supporter. Great minds...
Thanks also for the Wing to Wing information - this is wonderful. I know that we share a passion for mentorship - I've gained much from mentorship, and it's my great pleasure to pay it forward.
