So much of what we read today seems out of touch with the times. While it’s lovely to pick up a magazine and view a nicely-painted rosy picture of the working world (“Re-invent Yourself With a Makeover and Get That Raise!”), sometimes that just doesn’t resonate when you’re up against a wall after a tough day.
Carolyn, straight-shooter that she is, recognized that working women everywhere need a place to talk about what is really happening out there–the good and the bad, the layoffs, the unexpected (but wonderful) new directions, feeling trapped in a job yet unable to leave, launching a new business when money is tight, and the list goes on. Our available choices don’t always coincide with our dreams and passions.
That doesn’t mean we can’t have a look at how we’re approaching work and how we are fitting it into our rich lives.
