Can I still wear Fashion trends to the office at my age?
We hear this question often! Since we are stuck in the winter doldrums we thought we would turn our thoughts to Spring. There are so many Spring trends this season: warm hues, feminine florals, and innovative prints. How can you take these trends and still look professional for your age? We show you some examples how you can take the Print trend and translate it into age appropriate office looks. Today we focus on the age ranges: 20, 30, & 40’s.
20’s:
Now is the time you can experiment with prints and patterns. Try not to go overboard but have fun with it!

30’s:
We love how you still can incorporate prints into your office wardrobe with the use of a belted or wrap dress. We also love the printed bodice of the Rachel Roy dress on the right. It adds just the right touch of sophistication to the dress.

40’s
Purples, Blues, and warm hues make these prints age appropriate for the office. Pair the skirt with a solid blouse or cardigan. The printed blouse can be worn with dark denim and a khaki blazer for a casual friday look.

See how easy that is? We know that some trends simply cannot be for everyone but don’t let them intimidate you! Experiment!

Wonderful article, and I LOVE your website! One question: do you plan to go a decade or two higher?
Hi there!
Thanks for your comment! You will see more articles on age appropriate looks and we’ll make sure we cover the 50-60 age bracket!
I agree, you have a great website! I really like that your suggestions link right to the websites where you can buy the clothes. It also looks like you don’t just focus on one or two designers.
I’m in my 40’s, so I’m very careful not to dress “too young” at work, even though I work in a very fashion forward place.
Well, without revealing my age (hee hee) I can say that I’ve moved away from bright colors and patterns as I’ve gotten older. They seem too young-ish to me. However, some of the ones shown here are not too offensive (grin). In fact, that ruched sleeve blouse in the 40’s section is gorgeous. I could see wearing it with plain black slacks or a pencil skirt.
